The New Home Construction Photo Hall of Shame!

This page is dedicated to showing the quality of new home construction. This page of shame is not for every builder, some of our builders really do build a quality home and are very proud of their work.  Yet, every now and then even one of their homes might make it to this site.  The single largest culprit are the inept subcontractors who the builders are depending on to properly construct your new home.

I can not tell you how many times I have heard the following statement from buyers and most often from their agents.

"It's a new home so it won't have any problems!"

Well just take a look at the following pictures and you be the judge about new homes not having any problems!  All of the photos are of new homes that have had their final inspection by the Code Inspector and they have been issued a Certificate of Occupancy (CO).  A CO means that the city has approved the home for you to move in. The following homes range in price from $207,000 to $3,300,000.  Would you really want to move into a home with problems like this?

No electrical outlet for whirlpool tub!

I have not labeled the problems in the above photos.  See if you can find the problem! Some are very easy to detect and others are not so easy.  The photos show everything from a whirlpool tub with no electrical; no flashing along a roofline; miss drilled holes in a Oak floor; missing light switch; air duct problems; gas water heater with no combustion air; and much much more.  This is only a sample of problems that have recently been discovered during a home inspection.  Keep in mind that many of the above problems are very common to new construction and many are creating dangerous conditions that must be corrected.

Call 615-302-1113 to place your home in our inspection schedule.

The more notice you can provide the better it is for everyone.  Most of all, you should not close on your new home until all of the corrections and repairs are complete and to your satisfaction.
